SIBUSISIWE GUGU MANQELE is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Northern KwaZulu-Natal (Ulundi), South Africa. She’s an actress, voice artist, writer, director and a voice for many adverts you might have heard on the radio and TV. She enjoys writing and doing voiceovers in IsiZulu.
Executive Producer
Sibusisiwe has written, starred and Executive Produced QUESTIONS, a short film. As a playwright, she has penned two plays YINI? / WHAT IS IT? And Migration of the Heart. Her directorial debut was on PASS OVER as an Assistant Director, the play successfully ran at the Market Theatre for Black History Month in 2021.
Screenwriting
Sibusisiwe’s screenwriting credit includes writing for Gomora Seasons 1 & 2, House of Zwide Season 1 and SABC 1’s Educational Drama Series: Skeem Saam Season 11, 12 & 13.
Production
In her 12-year career in television, her production work includes being a promo director, a digital online and social media publisher, Big Brother Africa- Mzansi and Angola moderator, a translator, a tutor, and a production assistant.
Performance
She starred in a lead role on the SABC award-winning edutainment series INTERSEXIONS 2 in 2013, had a feature role in Saints and Sinners 1 on Mzansi Magic and starred as a guest presenter on SABC 1’s YOTV Crib notes.
